At the HBJ School Fine Art we believe that every child is a masterpiece-
-a work of art created uniquely by God. Our goal is to teach children
how to identify, articulate, and express the beauty they see in this
world, and we strive to give them the skills to do it. We love to
see children learn how to harness their creativity, unleash their

imaginations,
and become inspired.

We teach in many mediums, and all styles: landscape, still life, portraiture,
and abstract. We expect our students to learn about art at their own
pace and have a wonderful time! Our focus is on the process, not the
product. All class activities
are age appropriate, and because they average
6 students, your child will get lots of individual attention.
|
| Math
and science skills are part of our curriculum, |
|
because
they are naturally a part of fine art (see our gallery!). Art history
is incorporated into each lesson. Class begins with a presentation of
historically significant artists and their artwork, followed by a class
discussion.
|
|
Every class focuses on a new artistic concept or technique (we call
it Quick Study), but the class session is progressive, building
on what your child learns in previous lessons. Parents receive a lesson
review sheet from each class which includes resources for you to use
at home. We also give Home Art (NOT homework!) in case your
budding artist wants to practice new techniques between classes.
